Behind Double L Pottery is Kathleen Leavitt - a ceramic artist based in Richmond, Virginia, whose work is rooted in simplicity, warmth, and the beauty of everyday living.
Before finding clay, Kathleen worked in finance in New York City and Los Angeles. She then tried pottery for the first time.
What began as a small, creative outlet quickly became a grounding ritual and a source of fulfillment. The process of shaping clay by hand - slow, tactile, and honest - offered the balance and purpose she had been looking for.
Today, Kathleen creates each piece in her home studio, focusing on simple forms, natural tones, and practicality. She embraces the charm of handmade work. She believes the things we use and live with should feel warm, real, and lived-in.
